I have always been an artist. From high school art class to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Then I enlisted in the Marine Corps where my eyes and shutter were opened to other parts of the world. I continued to work on my craft through classes, books, magazines, practice and networking with other photographers. Transitioning from film to digital cameras and photography technology came at the right time. Like most, I migrated through several digital point and shoot cameras while waiting for the first DSLRs to hit the market.
About ten years ago I opened FirewallPhotography.com. The learning curve of social media, online gallery sales, selecting a capable printing service, and marketing were less than enjoyable but necessary. The lessons learned through trial and error taught me a great deal.
Now, I’ve travelled around the world with the sole purpose of photographing wild animals, beautiful flora, architectural marvels, icons of the road and skies, and breathtaking sunsets / sunrises that are proof of a Creator.
The exhibit shown here is entitled Headlights and Taillights. As a young man, I drooled over Detroit muscle, mag wheels, headers and miraculous paintjobs. The photographs in this collection are a testament to the art of a by-gone era and the craftsmen that maintain, stylize and enjoy those cars today. I hope you can appreciate that I seldom shoot the whole car, but only those parts that scream their make, model and status as an icon.
I have an extensive collection of subject galleries, more than I can display online or in one gallery. If you are looking for a specific photograph, color, size or media, feel free to send me an email or call.
