Vicki Andros
Fabric and Fiber Art
Vicki began her sewing experience as a young child at home, learning from her mother and grandmother.  Technically proficient, she sewed clothing, and a few household items over the years.  While working for Arizona State University as a programmer-analyst in 1986, she joined a co-worker in a beginning quilting class.  That was the beginning of a lifelong interest in creating items out of fabric.

Always looking for new ways to do things, Vicki continues to take classes in quilting, machine embroidery, thread painting, felting, foiling, stenciling and other methods of manipulating and embellishing fabric.  In addition to creating wall hangings, purses/small bags, and apparel, she has created jewelry, postcards and bed quilts.  Vicki works with new and reclaimed materials.

Her desire for quality work was recognized in her only entry into a judged event.  Her Puppy Dog Baby Quilt won a blue ribbon in the 2011 Coconino County Fair.  She especially enjoys bright bold colors, and finding that perfect fabric that just says “Wow!”
Each project she creates is given her whole attention from the time it is a “WHIMM” – Works Hidden in My Mind, to a PIGS – Project in a Grocery Sack, to a WIP – Work in Progress, to finally a TGIF – Thank Goodness It’s Finished!
